The Spring House 2027 bookings open in Mid-August. If booking another hotel room, availability may not appear until November/December. Some hotels will not "release" all rooms online, so if you can't find what you you're looking for on a hotel's website, please consider calling the hotel directly. Most hotels have a 2-night minimum during this time of year. We've included a variety of accommodation options below, most within walking distance of the venue, the town, and/or the beaches. For those planning on staying a full week, a house rental is a great option. Lastly, if you're not booking any of the below, air conditioning is not always a given in some of the more "historic" hotels. We recommend confirming prior to booking if this is a necessity!

HOW TO GET HERE

Block Island is located 13 miles south off the coast of Rhode Island. The easiest way to get to the island is by ferry from Point Judith, Rhode Island or New London, Connecticut. There are also ferries with limited schedules from Newport, Rhode Island, and Montauk, New York. The island is fairly manageable without a car, but if you are considering bringing one over, Point Judith is the only ferry offering car service (roundtrip service for cars is approximately $80 and reservations are competitive so be sure to book the first week in January if you want to bring a car).

FERRY TRANSPORTATION

Block Island Ferry: This ferry operates from Point Judith, RI. It is the only ferry that can take vehicles to the island, and reservations are required. Passenger reservations are also recommended. Block Island Hi-Speed Ferry: This ferry departs from the State Pier in Point Judith, R.I. and docks in Old Harbor in under 30 minutes. The terminal in New London is located next to the train station and limited parking is available with a municipal garage across the street. Block Island Express - Orient Point: Connecting Orient Point, NY and Block Island. To travel between Long Island and Block Island there are two options. You can connect via Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point and transfer to the Block Island Express in New London or direct service between Orient Point and Block Island. BLOCK ISLAND AIRPORT

The Block Island State Airport (BID) is a small regional airport located about 5 minutes by taxi or 25–30 minutes on foot from the Spring House Hotel, making it a convenient option for guests traveling from New England. The airport is served by New England Airlines, which operates year-round scheduled flights between Westerly, Rhode Island (WST), and Block Island. The flight takes just 12 minutes, and Westerly is easily accessible by car or Amtrak from Boston, New York City, and Providence. During the summer season, including June, service increases significantly to meet demand, with flights operating approximately every hour between Westerly and Block Island. Because aircraft are small and seats are limited, reservations should be made well in advance, especially for weekend travel. There are no scheduled commercial flights from major airports directly to Block Island, so most guests arriving by air will connect through Westerly or choose the ferry instead.

Mohegan Bluffs TrailIt’s a bit of a climb to get there with 141 steps leading down to the sandy beach, but the payoff is spectacular. Your lookout sits on clay cliffs that offer one of the most dramatic views of the Atlantic in RI, and a vista that extends all the way to Montauk. Block Island does not have rideshare apps, so taxis are the best way to get around! Since it is such a small island, if you call and request a ride from one of these services, they will connect with the other drivers on the island to get you the fastest ride, so don’t be alarmed if it’s a different taxi service than the number you called! Is New Shoreham the same place as Block Island?Yes! You may see these names interchanged, but they are both referring to the island. How do we get to Block Island?By Ferry, Plane, or Boat! The ferry runs out of New London, CT and Pt. Judith, RI. Flights are out of Westerly, RI. Please visit the travel section for more information! Is there a minimum stay requirement for inns/hotels?Yes, most Block Island accommodations require a two-night minimum stay on weekends unless otherwise specified. Can I stay off-island?Staying on Block Island is highly recommended for our wedding weekend. While it is possible to stay off-island, ferry schedules are limited, with the last ferry out typically being before 8 pm. Our reception ends at 9:00 PM, making it difficult to coordinate a return trip after the celebration. Are those who are under 18 years old invited to the ceremony + reception?Much to our dismay, due to the size and location of our venue, we are only able to extend an invite to those who are 18 years and older. Does Block Island Offer Babysitter Services?YES! https://www.blockislandbabysitters.com Are those who are under 18 years old invited to Block Island to partake in the other wedding festivities?Yes! All are invited to come to Block Island and enjoy the festivities planned the day prior and the day after the wedding. The ceremony will be held on grass, so take that into account when choosing your footwear!
